December 13 – 1st Annual Candlelight Christmas Tour, 3:00 – 8:00 pm. Begins at the Old Wendell Post Office. Tickets are $8 for members, $10 for non-members. On sale at the Wendell Chamber of Commerce and Wits End.
December 12 & 18 –York Simpson and Underwood - Brighton of Wendell is having a Christmas show open house December 15-18, from 1 to 6 daily, with a cocktail party on the last day, 4 pm to 6 pm. $7.00 per person, all proceeds going to the Doug Proctor Foundation.
FYI - Vardy Chiropractic is conducting a Food Drive at both locations to help locally the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. The shelves at the Wendell United Methodist Church’s Food Pantry are pretty empty, and they have over a 1000 families now requesting food from them.
Dr. Vardy wants to show his appreciation for the community’s participation in helping relieve some of the hunger. For any existing or new patient who drops off food at either our Wendell or Knightdale office, he will take the amount shown on the receipts of the food anyone donates, and will reduce their bill at the office by an equal amount.
The pantry is in such dire need of food that this is an important program to people who are neighbors to all of us. Please help as best you can. Donations may be dropped off directly, also, at the Food Pantry on Main Street. Call Shamra at 919-365-6266 to be sure someone is there at the church to open the door for you.
