Becoming Official

  For you to be "officially" a resident, you will have to do certain things, and know some lawys. 

Driver's License Office

Within 30 days of establishing residency in N.C., you must obtain a state driver's license.  60 days if you are moving from withihn the state.

* Note:New residents must obtain a N.C. vehicle title at the same time of registering their vehicles for license plates.

Car Safety Inspections

 

New residents moving from out of state have 10 days after getting their NC auto tags to have thier motor vehicles inspected.

Seat Belt / Helmet Laws:

 

 

 

 

 Note:
Seat belts are required for all front-seat passengers.

Children under the age of 4 must ride in a car seat. 

Children between the ages of 4 and 6 must either be in car seats or wear seat belts regardless of where they sit in the car. 

Motorcyclists are required to wear helmets and burn headlights at all times.

Eastern Wake Senior Center

Location:  323 Lake Drive

* It is the result of a vigorous community fund-raising effort and is operated by the Council on Aging of Wake County.

The Center offeres a variety of services ranging from recreational programming, a nutrition program, and adult day care.

It is a first rate facility widely used for tennis, volleyball, soccer, baseball, and softball.

Wendell also has 3 swimming pools, a golf course, and a full time recreation director.  

A new community center opened in October 2000.
